The latest developments in subsea intervention will be discussed at a meeting of a leading oil and gas industry body in Aberdeen on Tuesday, 21st September.

The meeting of the European chapter of the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) will explore topics including riserless well intervention, use of technology to improve oil recovery and reduce production risk and decommissioning.

Guest speakers will include Iain MacFarlane of Marine Subsea, Iain Morrice and Paul Collins of Helix Well Ops and Sirri Jøssang of Island Offshore.

The event, which will be held at the Marcliffe Hotel, will start at 10.30 and will include a buffet lunch. It is the latest in a series of events being held by ICoTA Europe this year, leading up to the organisation’s 16th European well intervention round table at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on November 17 and 18.

ICoTA Europe chairman Daniele Petrone said: “The issues surrounding the future of well intervention are really at the forefront of everyone’s minds in the industry at the moment, and our event on Tuesday will give people a chance to explore these in the context of the subsea sector.

“We are expecting a healthy turnout of members and non members to discuss this important topic, but I would still encourage anyone with a interest in this subject to come along.

“Our events not only stimulate good debate, they are also a great way to network with some of the leading figures in the European intervention and coiled tubing industry.”
