Tethys Oil spuds PLM-2 well in France

The Pierre Maubeuge 2 (PLM-2) exploration well onshore France has spudded. Drilling is estimated to last for about 20 days to reach a planned depth of 1,500 meters.

At 8 am this morning the well had reached a depth of 271 metres. The well is designed to explore for natural gas.

The Attila licence is located in the oil and gas producing Paris basin about 250 kilometres east of Paris. Tethys has a 40 per cent interest in the license with private French oil company Galli Coz S.A. having 60 per cent and operatorship.

”We have some interesting and exciting weeks ahead of us. If successful, the PLM-2 well has the potential to be a very good complement to our project in Oman”, comments Tethys Oil’s Managing Director Magnus Nordin.
