The Aberdeen operation of global engineering and construction services group Aker Solutions is celebrating after being shortlisted for three awards in the oil industry's Oscars, the Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards.
Three divisions within the business have been shortlisted for accolades with Keith Drummond of Aker Qserv Ltd and Samantha Thomson of Aker Offshore Partner Ltd both represented in the highly coveted Rising Star category. Aker Subsea is one of just two companies shortlisted for the Safety Award.
Aker Solutions is the only company to have three finalists in the running for the awards which pay tribute to companies in the energy industry, recognising their collective and individual world-class achievements. Organised by Scottish Enterprise in conjunction with the industry, they celebrate innovation, success and the achievements of individuals, companies and organisations from throughout the offshore energy sector.
The winners will be announced at a black tie dinner at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on March 25.
Alan Brunnen, managing director of Aker Subsea, said: 'Being shortlisted for an award is a notable achievement so we are delighted that our commitment towards enhancing safety across the industry and nurturing the talent of the next generation has seen us shortlisted for three awards.
'It is a particular achievement in light of the outstanding competition from this year's other finalists.'
