Verdande Technology says that Ali K. Garkasi has been named Operations Manager for the Middle East and North Africa. Verdande Technology, based in Trondheim, Norway markets the DrillEdge™ software platform that helps operators re-use knowledge in order to diagnose and avoid costly drilling problems before they escalate

According to Lars Olrik, chief executive officer for Verdande Technology, Garkasi will head the operations in the Middle East and North Africa, as Verdande Technology are moving into this market.

“We are very excited to have Ali on our team. His experience and intimate knowledge of this market will be very important for Verdande Technology since this market will be essential in building our business”, says Olrik.

Garkasi has more than 25 years experience in the industry, working on new drilling technologies in both land and offshore projects. He joins Verdande Technology after having made a career with Saudi Aramco as a senior lead drilling engineer.

He has a MS in Petroleum Engineering from the Technical University Clausthal Germany from 1978.
