Today at Nor-Shipping 2009, the company Vinashin Shipbuilding Engineering (Visec) and the business solution provider MultiPlus Solutions have signed an exclusive pre-study contract for the MultiPlus ERP/business system. In addition, Visec and MultiPlus Solutions have signed a collaboration agreement where Visec will be representing the Norwegian company in the Vietnamese market.

Visec is a subsidiary of Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin). If successful, the pre-study will be followed up by an agreement for consultancy services and installation of the MultiPlus Shipbuilding Solution at shipyards and other subsidiaries in the Vinashin Group.

“The collaboration with MultiPlus Solutions and a later investment in MultiPlus Shipbuilding Solution is strategically important in our future approach to the global shipbuilding market. It is our intention that MultiPlus Shipbuilding Solutions will play a key role in our collaborations with ship-owners, classification societies, design companies and the government, and will also be a central management tool in our production processes. The objective is to strengthen our involvement with increasingly more advanced vessels and our position as an inexpensive quality supplier,” says CEO of Visec, Mr. Minh, at today’s public contract signing arrangement.

The Vinashin Group has evaluated several other major ERP-solutions, but has decided to continue the selection process exclusively with MultiPlus Shipbuilding Solution.
