Wavefield Inseis ASA have made an agreement with Sevmorneftegeofizika (SMNG), Russia's largest marine geophysical company, to charter the dual streamer vessel Akademik Shatskiy for a minimum of one year.

The company will use the vessel to augment its own fleet of five vessels in order to meet the high demand in both the proprietary and multi-client markets. The vessels will be utilized for 2D surveys and as a source vessel for wide-azimuth projects.

Commenting on the agreement Atle Jacobsen, CEO of Wavefield Inseis stated "We have a long standing relationship with SMNG and are very pleased to have the Shatskiy as part of our fleet. It gives us even more flexibility to enable us to capture additional market share in some key market areas."
