Javier Betancourt, the president of Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos – Colombia (ANH) marked the official opening of the new Weatherford lab in Bogota, Colombia in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, June 4.

This new facility provides traditional core and fluid analysis combined with specialty services such as shale rock properties (SRP), geochemistry, wellsite geosciences, frac fluids, drilling fluids, and elastomer testing for progressive cavity pumps.

The lab also hosted more than 30 operators for an open house that included a full tour of the facility and technical presentations from international and local Weatherford subject matter experts. This is the first dedicated integrated laboratory in Colombia for Weatherford and brings a multidisciplinary service approach to the entire life cycle of the region’s hydrocarbon assets.
