Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), the Pakistani national oil and gas company, reported Thursday that it has made an oil discovery at Chak Naurang South-1 well in Lower Sakessar in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan.

The Chak Naurang South-1 well, drilled to a depth of 10,564 feet (3,220 meters) targeting the Eocene reservoir of the sub thrust sheet to test potential of "lower Sakessar" formation, struck significant hydrocarbon reserves. "The well initially produced 180 barrels per day of crude oil with jet pump," OGDCL said.
