Atlas Copco Rental

Atlas Copco Rental North America wins over bid for renting oil-free air equipment and accessories to the Etileno XXI Project in Mexico.

In January of 2010, the Etileno XXI project was born as a result of the alliance between Braskem, a Brazilian company leading in the petrochemical industry and Group Idesa, one of the top Mexican companies in the petrochemical sector with 25% of the project shares. Together they have invested over 4.5 billion USD in the construction of a 500 acre complex in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico.

Here’s the Etileno XXI Project at a glance:

• 24,000 tons of steel structure (twice the weight of the Eiffel Tower)

• 132,000 tons of concrete (1.2 times of Aztec Stadium in Mexico City)

• 38,000 tons of equipment

• 24,000 tons of piping • 4,000 tons of electrical cable (approximately 2 miles of underground pipeline)

• 150,000 MW capacity installed with cogeneration capabilities up to 80%

• 14,000 permanent jobs created
