Clough AMEC, the equal share joint venture between Clough Ltd and AMEC, has further strengthened its management team with the announcement of two new key appointments in former Worley Parsons Country Manager for Malaysia Simon Taylor and Howard Priestley, former Vice President, Strategy & Development for Transfield Services Canada. Simon will take over as General Manager for the joint venture while Howard has been appointed to the role of Business Development Manager.

“These external appointments are an important milestone for Clough AMEC, and are a further confirmation that both parent companies are in full support of this service-oriented business”, commented Clough AMEC Board member, Andy Antoci.

Simon Taylor is a highly qualified engineering and management professional with over 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He has worked for several blue chip companies, both operators and contractors. His employment with BP, Brunei Shell, KBR, Worley Parsons and Transfield has provided Simon with expertise in general management, engineering, maintenance and planning roles. Simon has previously worked in New Zealand, the UK, and several SE Asian and Middle Eastern countries.

Howard Priestley has 25 years global oil and gas experience that encompasses Exploration and Production, Projects and Operations. Originally employed as a down-hole directional surveyor for Sperry Sun and Smith International, Howard moved to business development mid-career working with industry leading organisations including Woodside Energy, IRC (risk consultants) and Transfield Services. Howard has worked extensively in North America and Europe and has served on a number of company boards including international legal firm HFI of Dubai, IRC and the Australian American Chamber of Commerce in Houston.

“Having previously been based in Perth, Western Australia for a number of years, both Simon and Howard are very familiar with the Australia and South East Asia region and the opportunities that exist for Clough AMEC there”, says Mr Antoci. “This coupled with their extensive international experience working with a number of the key global operators in the market gives me every confidence that we’re in good hands”.
