ABB, Oceanteam form sub-sea alliance

Oceanteam

Offshore oilfield construction and automation outfits OceanTeam and ABB will ally in the business of installing of high-voltage sub-sea cables, the companies announced Wednesday.

Oceanteam construction vessels and crews will help install ABB high-tech power lines and connectors when either company bids successfully. The five-year deal’s financial impact was not made known.

Oceanteam vessels being built at Vigo, Spain will be able to carry 7,000 tonnes of coiled ABB cables and umbilical.
