Oceanteam orders new sub-sea construction ship

Norway-based sub-sea contractor Oceanteam Power & Umbilical ASA has penned a financing deal with with Bourbon Offshore to build a construction support vessel.

The ship will be delivered in early 2010 by Metalships & Docks, SUA in Vigo, Spain.

It’ll be owned 50-50 owned by Oceanteam Power and Bourbon via joint business Oceanteam Bourbon 2 AS.

The 123-metre-long Bourbon Oceanteam will boast 2,000 square meters of free deck and two large heave compensated cranes, plus rooms for 120 people. Oceanteam is already building three large construction support and cable-lay vessels at the Vigo yard.
