Altus Intervention, provider of well intervention services to the oil and gas industry, has enhanced its coiled tubing capability through the acquisition of a package of Thru-tubing products and services, for an undisclosed sum.

This investment reinforces the company’s position as a provider of fully integrated well intervention services and technology. The thru-tubing products are highly advanced and have been developed to encounter the evermore complex well-bores and completions faced in the industry today. With the large number of oil fields maturing across the market, there is an ever-increasing demand for well-engineered and cost effective coiled tubing solutions. Thru tubing tools and equipment allow intervention operations such as jetting, pulling, milling, cutting, fishing and isolation activities to be performed on live wells. This offers clients cost effective remedial intervention solutions which can mitigate undesirable costs associated with well workover activities.

The company already has an extensive portfolio of tools and proprietary solutions for wireline operations; this supplementary service offering for coiled tubing consolidates its position as a downhole solution provider. The additional service culminates in a turnkey well intervention offer for its clients who can realise incremental benefits as a result of greater integration and associated multi-disciplined services.

In addition to the extensive inventory of thru-tubing products, the acquisition also includes associated maintenance fixed assets to accommodate the stringent maintenance regimes. To support this, they are looking to recruit 4 thru-tubing specialists to join their coiled tubing team in Aberdeen.
