Baker Hughes Incorporated has appointed Arthur (Art) L. Soucy, 46, as Vice President Supply Chain, assuming his new duties on April 1, 2009. In this position, he will report to Martin Craighead, Vice President and Group President Drilling and Evaluation. As previously announced, Mr. Craighead will become Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer on April 30, 2009.
"Art brings to Baker Hughes over 27 years of experience in virtually every supply chain role from procurement to manufacturing," said Martin Craighead. "We expect to benefit from his insight and experience as we execute our strategic plans to advance our capabilities in supply chain management to become a world class leader."
Arthur (Art) L. Soucy will become Vice President Supply Chain on April 1, 2009. Most recently he was Vice President, Global Supply Chain for Pratt and Whitney, a United Technology Corp. company, and a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines, industrial gas turbines and space propulsion systems.
Mr. Soucy held a variety of management positions across different business units since beginning with Pratt and Whitney in 1995. From 1982 to 1995, he worked for Hamilton Standard, a United Technology Corp. company, serving in various manufacturing engineering and product development management roles. Mr. Soucy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
