Bow Valley completes sale of Canadian assets

Bow Valley Energy Ltd. declares the appointment of C.W. Leigh Cassidy, CA, CFA to the position of Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Bow Valley Energy Ltd. Mr. Cassidy will commence employment with the Company on August 18, 2008.

Mr. Cassidy will be responsible for all financial activities and reporting for Bow Valley Energy Ltd. and its subsidiary companies. He will provide leadership, mentoring, direction and focus to the accounting and treasury functions of the Company while also assisting the senior management team in defining and implementing strategic, operational and financial plans.

Mr. Cassidy has a strong finance and tax background with approximately 22 years of diversified international experience in corporate finance, capital markets, taxation and financial reporting of public companies. Most recently, from 2005-2007, Leigh was the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Signet Energy Inc. prior to that company being acquired by a competitor.

From 1996 to 2005 he was the Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of UTS Energy Corp. Mr. Cassidy obtained his CA designation in 1981 while working with Price Waterhouse and quickly moved to become a Manager of Taxation before he left public practice to work with industry in 1985. Mr. Cassidy obtained his CFA designation in 2006.
