Chevron Corporation declared that Maria Lindenberg was appointed chief procurement officer, effective Jan. 1, 2013. Lindenberg succeeds Leo Lonergan, who will retire from the company Feb. 1, 2013, after 36 years of distinguished service.

'Over the last seven years, Leo led the transformation of our Procurement and Supply Chain Management organization into a highly skilled, enterprise-focused function, delivering strong supplier engagement,' said Executive Vice President Jim Blackwell. 'During his tenure as chief procurement officer, Leo demonstrated a passion for integrity and transparency in all third-party relationships and served as a key member of our senior management team. We thank Leo for his many years of service and contributions to Chevron.'

Lindenberg, who most recently was general manager of Supply Chain Management for Chevron's Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit, will oversee Chevron's enterprisewide supply chain management activities. She will reside in Houston, Texas.
