Chevron commits $3 million to Hurricane relief efforts

Chevron Corporation is making a commitment of $3 million to support recovery efforts in the communities affected by hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike.

"Our thoughts are with our employees and the communities who have been affected by the hurricanes," said Dave O'Reilly, chairman and CEO of Chevron Corporation. "The need for urgent assistance as well as long-term aid is clear, and Chevron and our employees will continue to look for ways to support our communities in these difficult times."

The commitment will provide assistance to disaster relief efforts along the U.S Gulf Coast, where Chevron has had a long presence, and in the Caribbean, where Chevron has marketing operations under the Texaco brand. The funds will be directed towards the Red Cross, Save the Children, Feeding America and the Pan American Development Foundation, together with local charities and relief efforts near Chevron businesses in affected states as determined by the company.
