Derrick Services (UK) Ltd (DSL) has displayed its commitment to upholding the highest possible quality, health and safety standards by reaching a hat-trick of prestigious industry milestones.
DSL has passed its annual API (American Petroleum Institute) audit, an internationally-recognised assessment, where its quality management systems (QMS) exceeded API’s requirements. As a result, DSL has been issued new certifications for ISO/TS 29001, ISO 9001:2008 and API Specification Q1.
DSL QHSE manager Max Simmons said: “A surveillance audit of DSL’s QMS carried out by API representatives recently with excellent results for DSL. The outcome reflects favourably on our capabilities and our pursuit of continuous improvement of our management systems.”
DSL is also currently the UK’s only API 4F & 8C licensed company for the design, manufacture, inspection and repair/upgrade of drilling structures.
As of the beginning of April, DSL achieved a significant health and safety landmark by recording one full year with no Lost Time Incidents (LTI’s), which is testament to the dedication and investment the firm shows to its health and safety training.
DSL has also recently been confirmed as qualified in the Achilles Joint Qualification System (JQS) as suppliers to the Oil Industry in Norway and Denmark, for a number of products and services including rope access and decommissioning and abandonment services.
DSL managing director Mike Smith said: “These achievements shows our health & safety standards are among the best in the industry and our range of industry accreditations and API Licences leaves no doubt about our standards to the fundamental issues such as quality, HSE and integrity of service.”
DSL is currently preparing to exhibit at some of the world’s leading Oil & Gas exhibitions this year. The company will be exhibiting at the Offshore Technology Conference 2011 (OTC) in Houston, Texas from 2-5 May, on the EIC UK Pavilion, stand 2641-F.
In addition to this, DSL will be exhibiting on the EIC UK Pavilion at Brasil Offshore from 14 to 17 June in Macae, Brazil, and in Aberdeen, UK, at Offshore Europe from 6 to 8 September.
