Weir appoints President of its China business

The Weir Group PLC has announced that it has appointed Dr. Jianzhong Lu as Weir Group China President.

Dr Lu joins Weir from the global strategic communications advisory firm Brunswick, where he was a Partner advising Chinese and multi-national companies on their China and global strategies. His previous roles include Group Executive Vice President (China) of RGE and Acting President of BHP Billiton (China).

Dr Lu has a long track record of leadership roles in China and Australia, and his appointment reinforces Weir’s commitment to one of the world’s largest and most attractive markets. In his role as President, Dr. Lu will be responsible for building relations with government, major customers and other key stakeholders as Weir builds on its existing market position to bring world-leading technology to China.
