Fast-growing oilfield services business Reservoir Group (RG) has appointed Simon Kendall to manage its newly augmented data business.

RG Data specialises in data management, either in physical or digital form, and currently comprises three group companies - Kirk Petrophysics, InfoAsset and Enigma Data Services, which was acquired this summer.

Mr Kendall brings 30 years of expertise in oilfield exploration, production and data management to Reservoir Group. Formerly a senior manager with Robertson Research and latterly director of strategic initiatives with the information services and geoscience division of Fugro, Mr Kendall holds a BSc in geology and MSc in organic geochemistry. He will take up his new position at RG Data on 31st January 2011.

Reservoir Group chief executive officer, Pascal Bartette, said: 'We have a strong ambition to grow our RG Data business to become a leader in service-oriented data management and information services.
