Emmerson in $180M bid for Roxar

St. Louis-, Missouri based wireless outfit Emmerson has made an offer to buy up all the shares in Norway-based reservoir metering company Roxar for 1.27 billion kroner ($179 million), it was understood Monday.

Emmerson business Aegir Norge Holding got the nod from Roxar’s board to make the volontuary offer for Roxar’s shares.

Emmerson said it would pay some $200 million of Roxar’s debt as soon as the deal’s done in late April 2009.

Stavanger’s Roxar and its 1,36 million kroner ($193 million) in revenues is then set to become part of Emerson Process Management, a business that delivers remote real-time diagnostic data to from the great tangles of oilfield infrastructure.

With its sub-sea and reservoir link, Roxar looks set to complete the range of performance data Emmerson will be able to provide oil company clients.
