Gulf of Aden

Oilfield transporter Fairstar Heavy Transport said Tuesday it’ll make $23 million this year for braving the pirate-prone Gulf of Aden and other gunmen invested waters while carrying modules for a Nigerian oilfield.

The company expects “the significant financial contribution” to help it keep a steady financial ship this year.

The Heavy Transport vessel Fjord arrived safely in Abu Dhabi yesterday after passing through the Gulf of Aden “without incident”.

Fairstar is about to start a series of voyages from Abu Dhabi to Nigeria with modules built in the Middle East for installation in Nigeria.

“We will roll them onto the deck of Fjord and roll them off once we arrive in Nigeria,” a statement said.

Fairstar is ready for the first of three trips for the KBR & Snamprogetti loint venture Charville.

“Years of engineering and construction work have gone into completing these modules and our client is relying on us to deliver them safely and efficiently".
