Oceanteam fronts fifth cable-n’-construction ship

OCEANTEAM signs first contract with Nexans Norway-Spotlight

Norway-based Oceanteam Power & Umbilical has said “Yes” to an option to build a fifth new-build construction support vessel aimed at the larger cable projects of partner ABB.

Metalships & Docks, SUA got the contract to build the ship 'North Ocean 105, to be owned by Oceanteam entity North Ocean V AS in-line with the Norwegian pattern of “deflecting risk” observers have remarked upon.

The 137-metre, NOK465 million ($60 million) ship will be built in Vigo, Spain. It’ll be festooned with two “heave-compensated” cranes of 250-tonne and 150-tonne capacity and will have sleeping space for 120.
