StatoilHydro to use West Epsilon for North Sea drilling

West Epsilon

StatoilHydro has been granted consent to conduct exploration drilling in the southern North Sea with the mobile facility West Epsilon.

Well 16/2-5 is part of production licence 265 and is located 190 kilometres west of Stavanger. The well has the following geographical coordinates:

N 58° 48' 50.91", E 02° 22' 11.02". The water depth at the site is 110 metres.

Start-up is planned for January 2009 as soon as West Epsilon has finished the drilling of well 2/5-13. The activity is expected to last from 66 to 100 days, depending on discoveries.

The jackup drilling facility West Epsilon is operated by Seadrill Offshore AS (Seadrill), Stavanger.
