Maritime satellite communications provider Marlink has expanded coverage of its WaveCall™ VSAT service in the Caribbean following acquisition of space segment on the AMC-21 satellite. WaveCall™ Ku-band coverage will now range further along the eastern US coast towards New England and further west in the Gulf of Mexico providing complete coverage through the Panama Canal. The new satellite coverage also increases the signal strength in key areas of the Caribbean.
"Enhancing coverage of our WaveCall™ service in the Caribbean is key to providing our customers with high-quality, reliable satellite communications as well as maintaining our market leading position. The extended WaveCall™ coverage is of particular benefit to our strong yachting customer base in the Caribbean, as well as commercial customers sailing in the region," comments Tore Morten Olsen, CEO, Marlink.
For regional and multi-regional Ku-band coverage, WaveCall™ provides exceptional value and is suitable for a broad range of marine environments including leisure and commercial vessels. Marlink is increasing its satellite capacity to establish global coverage of Marlink's WaveCall™ services. Acquisition of space segment on the AMC-21 satellite is the company's latest effort in this ongoing process.
