The AdvanFort Company has announced that the second in its series of White Papers, this one written by Steven Jones, maritime director for the Security Association for the Maritime Industry (SAMI), has just been released.

The White Paper series focuses on laws, regulations, government policies and other subjects of interest to the counter-piracy community.

The new White Paper comes just one month after the first analysis inaugurating the series, written by international maritime lawyer John A.C. Cartner, raised critical questions governing the use of armed guards. Cartner’s paper received high marks from the maritime industry, as evidenced by its subsequent re-publication in trade media around the world.

Jones’ “Security Association for the Maritime Industry (SAMI) on PCASP Security Standards,” focuses on the use of privately contracted armed security personnel deployed onboard ships in pirate-infested waters.
