New numbers that speak of oil demand reveal oil-rich Norway — a near-arctic country as long as the U.S. West Coast — has sold 10 percent less petro-product at the start of the northern winter than a year ago.

A detailed look at the country’s sales of petro-products at home and abroad reveal November marine gas, oil and diesel sales were down 70 percent year-on-year. Jet fuel sales were down second most at nearly 39 percent, according to national recordkeeper Statistics Norway.

Of the heavy fuel oil sold to the international tankder fleets, business was down about 19 percent.

Only sales of automotive diesel are up on touted bio-diesel benefits.
