Inpex Corporation

INPEX says that through wholly-owned subsidiary Offshore Iwaki Petroleum has completed the decommissioning work of the Offshore Iwaki Platform, located 40km offshore Naraha Town, Fukushima prefecture in Japan. The decommission work includes plugging and abandoning of all the production wells at the Platform.

OIP produced natural gas and condensate for 23 years between 1984 and 2007 at the offshore Iwaki Gas Field, which is the first and only one ever developed in the offshore area of Japan's Pacific ocean side.

INPEX will continue to carry out exploration, development and production activities in Japan, including the production of Minami Nagaoka Gas Field, which is the largest gas field in Japan.
