Intertek has opened a new, state-of-the-art petroleum laboratory to provide expanded local services and capabilities to support growing refined fuel storage, trading and logistical refining business in Morocco.

Intertek's new laboratory is located in the North African 'Tanger Med Free Zone' region, located in the north of Morocco and strategically located between Tanger and Ceuta at the Straits of Gibraltar. Intertek's laboratory supports clients operating at the Tanger Med Port and Horizon Tangiers Terminals S.A. (HTTSA) Petroleum product terminal. The HTTSA terminal can store over 500,000 metric tonnes of residual fuel oil (bunker fuel) and other refined fuels such as gasoline and gas oil.

The new Moroccan laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, staffed by experienced chemists and technicians, and tests a wide range of petroleum refined products to accepted industry standards including ISO, ASTM, and others.
