OPRA has decided to locate its corporate center near Schiphol airport, Amsterdam. The offices will house OPRA's executive management and the global sales and marketing team. A location near Schiphol ensures efficient transit to OPRA's facilities in Hengelo (by train) and Stavanger (by plane).
As a result of the concentration of OPRA's corporate functions in Amsterdam, Mr. Lars Husby, residing in Oslo, will resign as CFO. Mr. Husby will be replaced by Mr. Colin Bartel. Mr. Husby will leave OPRA in March 2008, but will be retained as an advisor, to ensure an effective handover of OPRA's corporate finance activities.
Mr. Bartel will join OPRA on 1 April 2008 and is a Canadian citizen, living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Mr. Bartel has, for the past five years, worked in the Strategy and Business Development departments of Akzo Nobel, where he has been responsible for corporate venturing, spin-off divestments and innovation projects. Mr. Bartel has previously worked for TGF venture capital fund in Oslo. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bartel was a management consultant with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting, Strategic Services) and a business unit controller with Clariant (formerly Hoechst AG). Mr. Bartel received a BSc in Life Sciences from Queens University, Canada and has an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Graduate School of Business, the Netherlands.
