Oceanteam makes Scottish sub-sea splash

Bergen-based installation outfit Oceanteam Power & Umbilical will own 60 percent of a “new”, Aberdeen-based subsea services company if “Heads of” agreement penned at the weekend is followed up.

Sub-sea services experts headed by 25-year veteran Graeme Kidd will be grouped into new entity Oceanteam Subsea Services Ltd. to do offshore hydrographic surveys, inspections, repairs and work with remotely operated vehicles, or ROVs.

Two construction and inspection ROV`s have been ordered for delivery in September 2007 ahead of €4.5 million in “equipment, software and working capital” from the Norwegian parent company.
