With three discoveries in a row, an important progress has been made in unlocking full potential of the Aasta Hansteen area.“Our 2015 exploration campaign around Aasta Hansteen has proven an upside potential in the area. The estimated total volumes in the three discoveries, Snefrid Nord, Roald Rygg and Gymir, amount to 75-120 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent, corresponding to about 1/3 of the Aasta Hansteen recoverable volumes.

Major Kårstø project completedJun 4, 2015Work on upgrading two steam boilers at Kårstø was recently completed with good results, and has been carried out at a plant in full operation.The aim has been to extend the commercial life of these facilities, which can each produce 70 tonnes of steam per hour, and to improve their availability. Premier Oil makes Isobel Deep oil discoveryMay 29, 2015Premier is pleased to announce an oil discovery at the Isobel Deep exploration well 14/20-1 in the North Falkland Basin, approximately 30km south of the Sea Lion field. The Isobel Deep exploration well has been drilled to a depth of 8,289 feet reaching top reservoir on prognosis. The bottom 75 feet of the well consists of oil bearing F3 sands. These sands were at a higher than expected reservoir pressure and this resulted in an influx into the well.

Transocean to pay $211m to settle claims from Deepwater Horizon oil spillMay 22, 2015The Plaintiffs' Steering Committee (PSC) spearheading the litigation emanating from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill today announced that it has reached a preliminary agreement with Transocean for $211,750,000 to settle claims against the company arising from the spill. Barbier of the Eastern District of Louisiana, includes two classes of eligible claimants similar to the settlement negotiated between the PSC and Halliburton last year.
